I think I've smoked more cigarettes in the past week than I have in my entire life. I absolutely hate uncertainty.

I need a distraction. One that doesn't involve work, which I can't seem to focus on lately, or holing up in the suite playing Wii.

So you're saying you need to be dragged out somewhere?

She needs to be cheered up! Throw some glitter at her or something!

Exactly in what world does throwing glitter at someone get them to smile or cheer up rather than punch or throw something at you?

From: [identity profile] x-wasp.livejournal.com
This one! I mean, I've never been to any other worlds before, so hell if I know what they do there to cheer people up! I'm only sorry no one threw glitter at me when I arrived, but I made up for it later by throwing Peeps at people.

I don't recommend throwing glitter at people to cheer them up. If you want to piss them off when they're already in a bad mood then go for it. It's not cute over the age of 12 so the cheering factor is a bit low.

That would be wonderful.

Using words like "wonderful" will get you everywhere. Do you care where you get dragged off to or just that you're dragged? You need a new locale, your ass has its own indentation in that booth you're always in at Harry's.

You're a really cheery type, too, aren't you?

Date: 2008-08-04 11:59 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] x-copycat.livejournal.com
I'm plenty cheery, I just don't think acts of 8 yr old are endearing when you're 18.

I was thinking the same thing about Harry's- anywhere but there. I need a change of scenery.

How do you feel about violence as distraction? You can even consider it studying self-defense if you want.

Date: 2008-08-05 12:08 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] x-wasp.livejournal.com
I'm 19, not 18. At least get it right if you're going to try to insult me.

You don't think that is actually helping your case, do you?

I have a case? Do I need a lawyer?

Are you always this obnoxious or did I lose a bet I don't remember making?

Date: 2008-08-05 12:17 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] x-aerial.livejournal.com
The two are not the same at all. Violence is done with the intention of causing harm to someone or something. Self-defense is carried out with the intention of protecting yourself from receiving harm.

Date: 2008-08-05 12:20 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] x-wasp.livejournal.com
Obnoxious? Me? Never! You must have me confused with someone else.

Date: 2008-08-05 12:21 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] x-copycat.livejournal.com
They're definitely the same sometimes. Sports are both recreation and entertaining. Some sports are based on methods of fighting, which leads back into self-defense. It just so happens cupcake has been learning how to box, thus violence, distraction and education all in one. Convenient, innit?

Date: 2008-08-05 12:21 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] x-copycat.livejournal.com
I must, yes. Someone small and insecty with vaguely bugged eyes.

Date: 2008-08-05 12:25 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] x-wasp.livejournal.com
I'm only small sometimes, the only thing bug-like about me is my wings, and my eyes are gorgeous.

From: [identity profile] x-aerial.livejournal.com
Perhaps they are the same and convenient for you and your cupcake.

You're in no danger of suffering from modesty, I see.

From: [identity profile] x-copycat.livejournal.com
Well, we can't all be princesses so cupcake and I will just have to get by not being royal and somehow bear to keep going on with our lives. It's rough, really, but I think we'll be just fine without balls and tiaras and whatever the fuck it is you think is fun.

Dude. If something's true, it's true. Why try to hide it?

Beauty is subject. Your eyes are slightly buggy, your face is pointy and you're kind of under weight. Hopefully you'll fill out as you get older, but I wouldn't go around proving just how stuck on yourself you are, it's just annoying and makes you come off as even more immature. Someone who is genuinely confident doesn't have to proclaim how amazing they are all the time, particularly when it's not needed.

I was not thinking of myself when I made my statements above. Rather, I was thinking of your self-defense class and the students who are entrusted into your care.

Maybe you can't divorce yourself as a person from yourself as a teacher but I can. I'm more than capable of teaching self-defense without harming anyone, but don't fool yourself into thinking it's not violence.

From: [identity profile] x-wasp.livejournal.com
Um, wow. Now I really know you've somehow mistaken me for someone else. Oh well.

These days? I'd say it sounds perfect. What do you have in mind?

It seems rather rude and un-princesslike to me that someone would come on to someone else's journal for the sole purpose of irritating the journal-owner's friend. If you want to try and ruffle my friend's feathers I wish you luck but please take your discussion elsewhere and leave my journal alone.

Boxing, actually. Amateur circuit.

This is a pretty amusing distraction, to tell you the truth.

Bring it on. I'll call my driver.

Driver? God, right, you're a rich girl. Well you can be all shi-shi with your driver, I'm taking my bike.

From: [identity profile] x-adrienne.livejournal.com
Wait, bike? Okay, twist my arm. I will go on the bike. The bike will provide much more of a distraction for me. I don't really have much in the way of biker leather, though.

Ms. Frost, I apologize sincerely for using your journal in this way. I have no desire to attempt to upset your friend and I am not planning to continue this conversation with her. Again, my apologies for filling your journal with comments of this nature.

I have some stuff that will kind of fit you. If you have jeans I have chaps that shouldn't be too big, though they might be a little long. Jacket and helmet I've got covered, I know you have gloves. Do you have good boots? No heel, above the ankle.

Since you're about four inches taller than me, I've quite come to terms with the fact that they'll be long. But much obliged. I may own a pair of jeans... I shall check. My footwear collection is about ready to move to its own suite so I'm sure I can find something suitable.

As much as I hate to agree with Charlie's current self-defence teacher, there is a saying that you may have heard before about what constitutes the best defence. Teaching people to defend themselves in a way that is not "fuck the other bastard up as quickly and permanently as possible and run like fuck" is not doing the job properly, because it's just setting up people to get hurt.
