I'll take USA.

But this in no way means I endorse Soccer as a sport. You just gotta support the home team.

Damn it Ireland!

Lacking Ireland I'll go with Korea.

Soccer is way more a sport than some things that are considered sports! Like golf.

Ireland never makes it. Or is that Scotland? I always get the two confused.

I know. Doesn't mean I can't curse them for it though. Betrayal.

There's only like five sports:

Hockey, Competitive Cheerleading, Dodgeball, Demolition Derby, and World's Strongest Man/Woman.

Everything else Is a a competition, activity, or event.

SACRILEGE! Baseball is absolutely a sport!

Nope. Not a sport. Activity. No sport stops that much. Doesn't mean it ain't a fine activity, but activity it is.

If stopping is a factor in whether something's a sport, then taking turns should also be a factor, since everyone else is stopped while one team/person does something. Which means Cheerleading and World's Strongest Person are NOT sports!

Miss Storm, could I persuade you to choose again? If not, Adrienne, I will take a random choice.

Nope, but a common mistake.

At both sports, there are multiple people competing at once. It only looks like stopping when it's televised, as stations will typically focus on one individual performer or performance. I ain't never seen a baseball game goin on next to a baseball game so there's always a play goin on.

I have given this an abnormal amount of thought, it occurs to me...

But in finals you don't have everyone competing at once, right? You have to take turns?

Besides, in baseball, SOMEONE is always doing something (usually the pitcher), which is the exact same as cheerleading and WSP, right?

Finals is pretty much the only time.

And in no way important is a man throwin a ball ta warmup the same as two tiny ladies chucking one of their tiny lady friends into the air to see how many time she can spin around like a ninja before landing. Nor is it anywhere near someone chucking about cinderblocks to warm up. The last two are far more epic than the first one.

I could maybe be convinced to take Spain. What're you offering? :D

Depends on what you consider epic. Spinning is cool, but watching a guy hurl a 95MPH four-seamer the batter swings over the top of, a perfect 12-6 curve that completely flummoxes, and then a wipeout slider that just breezes the low outside corner of the plate for a called strike three? COMPLETELY epic.

I have a feeling this is gonna turn into a discussion like the art one where everything's just subjective so there's no right answer.

My cousin is not yet dead, nor will he release his claim upon our home country. I will assassinate him in his sleep and get back to you.

In the event that he manages to survive or come to his senses and realize that he clearly not going to win, I could see fit to take Portugal if Namor does not want it (I do not want Brazil, I have no good feelings about Brazil in the future) and if he does want Portugal and I cannot have France I would like Belgium so I can have a very good excuse to eat waffles all month.

Except that I see Meggan has claimed Belgium. Bother. In that case, if not France and not Portugal, then Greece.

Yes, No, yes, no no.

Sorry dude, if hockey's a sport (yo, it stops for the zamboni and for cleaning blood off the ice) then so is soccer, football, baseball and lacrosse.

Belgium is popular, apparently! I was contemplating them, too. But moreso because of the beer than the waffles.

There's also still Switzerland? Because chocolate.

Oh yes, that is also a good thing to consider. I think Switzerland instead of Greece, yes. Chocolate is better than rice stuffed grape leaves.

Nope, not enough inertia, armor, or sticks in any of those.

Lacrosse has some armor and sticks, but no inertia.
Soccer has no armor, no sticks, no inertia.
Football has armor and a little inertia, but no sticks and they keep stopping.
Baseball has sticks and like anti-inertia, and only the catcher has armor.

Hockey has all three, so it gets to be a sport.
